REBECOCO is a Korean cosmetics brand that works with fermented plant extracts. Golden Drip is its scalp line, built on hwangchil — the Korean name for Dendropanax morbifera, an evergreen that grows on Jeju Island and along Korea's southern coast. Two products, used in order: a shampoo you rinse out, and a tonic you leave on.

The leave-on step. Applied to a towel-dried scalp along the partings after washing, and not rinsed out. It is light, and does not leave hair looking greasy.

What's actually in it
The botanicals the line is built on, and what each one is.
- Dendropanax morbiferaAn evergreen native to Jeju Island and Korea's southwestern coast, where it grows in slightly acidic soil and stands up to sea wind. Koreans call it hwangchil, and also the ginseng tree. Cut the bark and the sap runs gold — which is where Golden Drip gets its name. Its extract is the base of the complex in both bottles.
- Fermented herb concentratesTwelve botanical extracts put through a fermentation step before they go into the formula. Fermentation is the through-line of the REBECOCO range.
- Phellinus linteusSanghwang, a bracket mushroom that grows on mulberry. One of three mushroom extracts in the line.
- Cordyceps militarisDongchunghacho, a cultivated Korean mushroom.
- Ganoderma lucidumYeongji, better known in English as reishi.
Both formulas are weakly acidic at pH 5.5, and the cleansing comes from coconut-derived surfactants.
REBECOCO describes the Dendropanax sap as carrying polyphenols, flavonoids, vitamins and saponins. That is a description of the raw material, not a claim about what the finished shampoo does — a distinction the brand draws itself, and one worth keeping.
REBECOCO holds South Korean Patent No. 10-2213150, registered in 2021, covering a cosmetic composition of Dendropanax morbifera extract, oat extract and MSM. It is a Korean patent and not a US one, and a patent records what was invented rather than what a product does for you.

Four things it's built on
One complex, not a long list
Golden Drip is the base of both bottles: Dendropanax extract combined with twelve fermented herbal concentrates. Most of what is in the bottle comes from one place rather than a roster of unrelated actives.
Three mushrooms
Phellinus linteus, sanghwang in Korea. Cordyceps militaris, dongchunghacho. Ganoderma lucidum, yeongji, sold in the West as reishi. All three are named on the line by the brand.
Fermented, not just extracted
The botanicals go through a fermentation step before the extract is finished — microbial cultures break down plant cell wall material, which changes the chemistry of what comes out. It is the through-line across everything REBECOCO makes.
Wash, then leave on
A shampoo that rinses clean and a tonic that stays on the scalp. Cleanse first, then leave something on — the same order you already use on your face.
Where the name comes from
Hwang means golden. Chil means to lacquer. The sap of the Dendropanax tree runs gold, and it was used as a lacquer in Korea long before anyone put it in a bottle — which is where both the tree's Korean name and this line's name come from.
Two things it does not mean. The 48K and 64K in the product names are not karats and have nothing to do with gold, whatever some US listings of this product say. They are REBECOCO's own accounting of how much of its Golden Drip complex is in each formula, and the tonic is the more concentrated of the two. We have asked for those figures in writing, and we will print them here when we have them on paper and not before.
What we don't claim
The Korean marketing for this line makes claims about hair loss, dandruff and inflammation. We have left all of it out. Those are drug claims in the United States, we hold none of the evidence behind them, and we would rather tell you that plainly than have you find it somewhere else and wonder why it is missing here.
What is on this page is what is in the bottle, where the plant grows, and how the two steps are used. We are a shop, not the maker. We buy this ourselves and keep it here, and we will tell you the batch and the date printed on the bottle before you order.
How to use it
Shampoo
Wet the hair, work the shampoo into the scalp with your fingertips rather than your nails, and give it a moment before rinsing. Twice if you have gone a few days.
Tonic
On a towel-dried scalp, part the hair and apply along the partings, working across the head. Massage it in briefly. Leave it — it is not rinsed out.
Patch test before the first use and stop if your skin reacts. That is ordinary advice for any concentrated plant formula, and we would give it for this one.
Who this is for
One routine rather than a choice of three. That makes it simpler — and it also means it is not matched to your scalp the way our Becon line is.

Questions
What do 48K and 64K mean?
They are product names, and they do not mean gold or karats, whatever you may have read on other US listings of this product. REBECOCO says the numbers refer to how much of its Golden Drip complex is in each formula, with the tonic the more concentrated of the two. We have asked the brand for those figures in writing. When we have them on paper we will print them here, and until then we would rather leave a gap than fill it with a number we cannot show you.
What is hwangchil, and why is the line named after it?
Hwangchil is the Korean name for Dendropanax morbifera, an evergreen that grows on Jeju Island and along Korea's southern coast. Hwang means golden and chil means to lacquer. The tree produces a golden sap that was used as a lacquer, which is where both the Korean name and the English one come from. In cosmetic ingredient nomenclature its extract is classified as a skin conditioning and hair conditioning ingredient, and that is as far as we will take it.
What does fermented actually mean on a shampoo?
It describes how the extract was made, not what it does on your head. Microbial cultures are left to break down plant cell wall material before the extract is finished, which changes the chemical make-up of what comes out. It is slower than simply steeping plants in a solvent, and it is a common method in Korean cosmetics. Anyone who tells you fermentation makes an ingredient absorb better or work deeper is telling you something they cannot show you.
Will this help with my scalp condition?
We cannot answer that, and we are not going to try. This is a cleanser and a leave-on liquid, sold as cosmetics. If you have a scalp condition, the person to ask is a dermatologist, and one visit will tell you more than any product page will. If you have seen claims about this product elsewhere, including on the Korean packaging, they are not claims we make here and not ones we can stand behind.
How long before I notice a difference?
How your scalp and hair feel after washing is usually clear within the first few washes: clean, comfortable, soft, less coated. That is what a shampoo and a leave-on can do. Anything to do with how your hair grows depends on your own growth cycle, which runs in months, and no bottle changes that. We would rather tell you that than promise a timeline we cannot stand behind.
Is it safe for colour-treated hair?
We do not have the ingredient list in writing yet, so we are not going to tell you it is. Once we hold the full list we will say plainly whether it contains sulfates and where the pH sits, because those are the two things that matter for colour. In the meantime, ask us and we will photograph the ingredient panel on the actual bottle we would ship you, before you buy.
Who makes it?
REBECOCO, a Korean cosmetics brand registered in Uiwang, Gyeonggi-do, and trading since 2016. Which factory produces it we do not know. Most Korean beauty brands contract manufacturing out to a separate licensed maker, and REBECOCO has not published who theirs is, so we are not going to guess. That is a real difference from the Becon line we carry, where the manufacturer is named and it is COSMAX.
Should I buy this or Becon?
Becon is the professional line, made by COSMAX, sold to salons and clinics in Korea. You pick your shampoo by how your scalp behaves, and the routine runs three steps in salon-sized bottles. Golden Drip is one routine for everybody: two steps, smaller bottles, built around a single Korean tree and a fermentation process. If you want to be matched, start with Becon. If the ingredient story is what interests you and you want a shorter routine, start here. Almost nobody needs both.
